You might think that cleaning a microwave is easy – just grab a wet cloth and wipe down. Unfortunately most people leave their microwaves to build up all kinds of bacteria and old dried up bits of food just love to welcome you each time you open that door.
Do not fear! Kitchen Hacker is here!
If you’ve left it a little too long it might be wise to follow this method:
Grab a fresh dish sponge and soak completely with water.
Use bottled/fresh lemon juice and squeeze 2-3 tablespoons onto the sponge.
Place on a microwavable plate and blast on full power for 30 seconds – 1 minute. This should create some steam in your microwave (if not, you might need to leave it in for a little longer or make sure the sponge is wet enough).
The steam will leave a fresh citrus scent in your microwave but also help lift any dried up food on the base, top and sides which you can use the rough side of the sponge to remove.
If you have your own way of doing it, we would love to know. Drop us a comment below!
